Dunbar Recreation Center is located on School Highlands Road across from the old Greenville High School campus. It is the hub of basketball activity in the Greenville Parks and Recreation Department, including league games and post-season tournaments. The seating capacity for basketball games is 500. Newly renovated in 2003, Dunbar also hosts numerous civic events, including the annual Martin Luther King Memorial Breakfast. With a full kitchen available, the center can be booked for other events for a fee by calling 382-8708 or 382-3031.
One of the oldest parks in the Camellia City, Dunbar is home to T-Ball and Mite League games sponsored by the GPRD. A three-field complex (skinned infields), Dunbar Park also has four practice fields to accommodate the 15-plus teams that play at the facility each year. The park also has a tennis court and pavilions, the latter of which can be reserved by contacting the recreation departmentís Dunbar office. The athletic complex is located on Dunbar Street, just off School Highlands Road. Concessions and restrooms are on site.
